Project
Ice hockey taught me what it meant to give everything. But after my diagnosis, I spent more time than I cared to on hospital beds. My first instinct was to run away. One day, I noticed a familiar exit sign: the glowing green escape pictogram found in almost every building. It felt symbolic, almost like something I needed in my life. I started photographing every exit sign I came across. The figure was always the same, but each sign existed in a different place, angle, or environment. Over time, that little running figure felt like a reminder that there is always somewhere safe to go. The more photos I collected, the more comfort I found in the idea that there is always an exit: sometimes in the form of a person, a space, or even a moment that becomes a refuge. This is a digital collage made from those escape signs. Each one points in a different direction, yet together they form a single message: your exit is near. In the end, the signs became more about finding my way back.
